About this project
Shot & Share is a photo collection platform for weddings, birthdays, and company events. The host creates an event, gets a link and a card to print straight away, and puts it on the tables. Guests point a phone camera at it, pick their photos, and upload - there is no sign-in prompt anywhere on the guest side, because every sign-in prompt is a guest who never hands their photos over. Everything lands in one gallery that fills all night and comes down as a single file in the morning. Plans are paid once per event rather than by subscription, and limits are measured in gigabytes instead of photo counts, so a recent phone with large files is not punished.

The challenge
After an event, the photos that matter are on other people's phones. Chasing them means group chats, half-finished airdrops, and compressed screenshots - and the tools built to solve it make it worse by asking every guest to install an app or create an account before they can upload. Free tiers cap you at fifty photos, watermark the QR code, and block bulk download, while permanent storage is sold as a subscription that people forget to renew until the photos are gone.
Our solution
Shot & Share removes every step between a guest and their upload. Scanning the QR code opens a single browser screen with no sign-in prompt, and the photos land in the host's gallery immediately. Quotas are counted in gigabytes rather than photos, so a modern phone's file sizes are not penalised, and upload space is reserved before a transfer starts so an event can never silently overrun. Links are revocable, expiry is announced 14, 7 and 1 days ahead and then pauses the event rather than deleting it, and the Keep Forever add-on keeps everything permanently for a single €29 payment instead of a yearly charge.
